Whale watching the last day in Maui.

Last photo taken in Maui.

Spent the day at the beach. This was Danielle's favorite thing to do.

We went on a zodiac raft to see dolphins and snorkel. We found a bunch of dolphins hanging around some whales. Here is a picture of the mama whale fin. The dolphins were too hard to take pictures of.
This is the place that we caught the boat to go see the dolphins and snorkel. We saw lots of fish, turtles and a shark while snorkeling. We drove up the coast to a blowhole on the ocean. The waves and water have made the rocks rugged. It looks like another planet.

It took a little waiting to get a picture with the water coming out of the blowhole.

This is another place we hiked/walked to. This spot is called dragon's teeth. We had to walk down the side of the Kapua golf course to see it.
This is the last picture Danielle took before her camera messed up. We went to a Luau last night but the camera was not working. The entertainment was great, but we will stick with Cindy and the Hard Rock Cafe's food.

Yesterday we went halfway to Hana. This is the only picture we took on the road to Hana. It is alot more green than this picture shows. This is the coast just south of where we are staying. We see a ton of whales as we drive down the coast.
Today we got up at 2:00 am to drive up to the top of the volcano to see the sunrise. The road was very long and winding. We rode in a van with two other couples. When we got to the top we all slept for another half hour until the sun was ready to come up. It was very cold, windy and rainy.

It was worth the trip because the sunrise was gorgeous.

We then biked down the road 26 miles all the way back to the ocean.

Today was a beach day, but first we had to shop a little. We went to the farmers market and bought a ton of fruit and vegetables. Cindy had a ball.

A little souvenir shopping was done as well.

Cindy had a heyday with her boat load of groceries, fruit and vegetables. Needless to say we have a great breakfast.

There were a bunch of whales we could see from the condo. At one time we could see about 10. A mother and her baby was really close. They just floated on the water for a long time. We are glad we brought the binoculars.

All geared up to go surfing.

And I really did go surfing. This photo proves it. Actually Cindy did the best. She rode several waves in and got really tired. Danielle did it too. She rode in 3 waves.

Do you think the surf board is long enough?

Hello from Maui

Alright - here we are in Maui. It is so warm. We flew in with no problems, picked up our car and drove to the condo. It is just two miles north of Ka'anapali. As we drove up the coast there were whales out in the ocean all over the place. Some were close to the shore too. This is the view from our deck at the condo. It was a beautiful sunset.

We went down to Front street and ate at the Hard Rock cafe. We had our waiter take a picture with the Cadillac. We then went to Safeway and bought some groceries. Cindy is in shock of the prices we had to pay for the groceries. No bargain shopping here. She still hasn't recovered.

We have a wireless Internet connection in our Condo so it is very convenient to do this post.
